Not-So Newborn Anymore

We are so in love with our little man. Looking at the progression of these pictures is crazy. I can't believe that he's grown so much.

9lb. 13oz.
Weight 11lb. 5oz.
12lb. 9oz.
Tagg had so much hair when he was born and his skin was so dark - I really wasn't totally convinced he was mine. Had I not been there for the birth (haha!) I really might have thought he was half Mexican. His hair is definitely getting lighter, along with his skin. In fact, his hair actually has a bit of a hint of red in the light. His little belly and face have definitely started to fill out and he's all baby now - and not-so-much newborn looking anymore. That's always a bitter-sweet transition.

I love Tagg's eyes! They are so blue and sparkly. They seem to shine when he smiles. And those lashes - oh my! Speaking of smiles - they are non-stop. Okay - now and then he cries, but he really is a happy, happy baby. He has discovered his hands and they are in his mouth a lot - covered in drool.

At three months he's not quite as sleepy anymore, but is definitely still a good sleeper. I would say 99.9% of the time we are in the car, he is asleep. Love that. Holland at this age - and ever - was not a sleeper in the car. He is asleep for the night about 9-10pm (and working to get that up to 8pm by the time he's four months!) Naps are getting more and more consistent. Morning and afternoon naps happen without fail, but the late afternoon/evening nap is hit and miss at this point. He's been waking up between 6 and 7am - and occasionally waking in the night for a feeding, but not every night - which is nice!

He likes to play on his kick-mat, chill in his swing, take baths with Holland, and showers with Mom or Dad. He's started cooing and laughing a bit; I'm so looking forward to more of those.

Work

Tagg didn't mind that I had to work tonight...just as long as I held him!

I am lucky and so blessed that I am able to work from home so that I can be there for my babies day and night.

Holland's Bedtime Routine

And so I don't forget - our bedtime routine with Holland has been a bubble bath (often times mom or dad join her and she LOVES when we do!) and then we read stories and have family prayer. For the past several months Tyler and I have been switching off every other night with who reads and prays and who rocks Holland to sleep. Holland loves water and never complains about having her hair washed. She lets us dump water on her without tears, screaming or thrashing - as I've seen some kids do. I love that she is so good about it. Lately her favorite books are: Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus ("Car Bus"), Dr. Seuss ABC ("ABC's ABC's) and The Moon ("Moon").

Love this little girl.

So Blessed

Today Taggart was blessed.

But, really, we are the ones who are blessed.

Taggart is such a mellow and happy baby. He smiles non-stop and has started laughing - which makes us laugh! His eyes sparkle more and more as his smile gets bigger and bigger. And when that happens, our hearts seem to swell in comparison. Who would have thought we could love a little boy so much?

Thanks for being part of our family, Taggart. We love you. We are so blessed!

Taggart's blessing gown was also Tyler's blessing gown. Made by Grandma Maggie.

Those who participated in the blessing: Grandpa Eppley, Uncle Todd, Uncle Shane, Cousin Geoffrey, Uncle Josh, Daddy (Tyler), Uncle Brandon, Uncle Jerry, Uncle Curtis

Me and my babies! Oh how I love them...even if Tagg has a poop-face going on.

All Dressed

Look at Tagg sporting this cute, little outfit.

He usually spends his days (and nights) bundled up in cozy PJs. So when I put this outfit on him, he all of a sudden looked so 'baby'...and not-so 'newborn' anymore. Wah!

Turns out that while this little man is just happy to be clothed, whether it's just a onesie or an actual outfit, this little girl is happy to choose her own clothes. And, well...see for yourself how sometimes she ends up wearing outfits that, while adorable to me because she loves them so much, no one in there right mind would ever choose to add to their Pinterest boards.

But, fashion-challenged or not, she loves him and he loves her.
